How do I turn off AutoExtend?

Modified on Tue, 13 Oct at 7:45 PM

AutoExtend is an optional service that automatically files a future tax extension using information already on file.

  1. Sign in and select My Tax Filings.
  2. Find the applicable extension.
  3. Locate Auto-extend next year beneath the IRS status.
  4. Switch the setting to Off.

Turning AutoExtend off stops future automatic filing for that extension. It does not cancel an extension already filed and accepted by the IRS.

We send advance notices before an automatic filing so you have an opportunity to skip or cancel. If you have a question about a charge that already occurred, contact Support for review.
