How do I cancel a transaction, stop AutoExtend, or unsubscribe?

Modified on Sat, 17 Oct at 9:51 PM

These are different requests. If you only say “cancel,” “stop” or “cancel this transaction,” tell Support which item you mean so the correct action can be reviewed.

  • Service order or charge: Ask Support to review the order, filing status and any refund request. Do not assume the transaction is an IRS bank withdrawal. A request does not mean a cancellation or refund has been completed.
  • Future AutoExtend filing: Sign in, open My Tax Filings and review the Auto-extend next year setting for the relevant extension. Turning future automatic filing off does not undo an accepted extension or automatically refund a completed charge.
  • Marketing emails: Use the unsubscribe link in the marketing email or ask Support to review your email preferences. Email preferences and AutoExtend enrollment are separate; changing one should not be described as changing the other.
  • Scheduled IRS tax payment: Tell Support that you specifically mean the IRS payment and use the applicable IRS payment instructions. Canceling our service or unsubscribing from email does not cancel a scheduled tax payment.

Do not send a password, verification code, full SSN or card/bank details by email, chat or text.
