Yes. During the AutoExtend advance-notice period, 5–7 days before your scheduled filing, you can add an IRS tax payment to accompany your automatic extension.
- Review the upcoming filing using the instructions in your advance-notice email.
- Enter the amount you want to pay the IRS and the required bank account information.
- Review and authorize the IRS payment before the extension is processed.
How is the IRS payment collected?
IRS tax payment: The IRS directly debits the bank account you authorize using the payment information included with your electronic extension. This payment is not charged to your saved credit card.
Service fee: We separately charge your saved payment method for the extension filing service. We transmit your extension only after that service-fee payment succeeds.
An extension provides additional time to file your tax return, not additional time to pay taxes owed. Arrange any IRS payment by the applicable payment deadline. If you need help reviewing the payment information, contact Support.
