The payment methods on this page are for paying our filing service fee. The service fee covers preparing and filing your extension or return; it does not pay your IRS tax balance.
At checkout, the available service-fee payment methods may include:
- PayPal
- Credit or debit card
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Venmo
IRS tax payment choices in our filing process
If you owe tax and file through our process, choose one of these options:
- Authorize a direct debit from your checking account through Electronic Funds Withdrawal (EFW) in the secure filing form.
- Mail a check to the IRS separately, using the current IRS instructions for your form and tax year.
- Submit no IRS payment through our filing process. Any tax due is still owed by the IRS payment deadline; an extension gives more time to file, not more time to pay.
PayPal, cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Venmo pay our service fee at checkout; they do not pay your IRS tax balance through our filing process. If you want to pay the IRS separately, follow the current IRS instructions. See How do I pay taxes I owe when filing an extension? for details.
