What is a single-member LLC?

Modified on Tue, 20 Dec, 2022 at 2:18 PM

A single-member LLC is a limited liability company that has one owner and a business entity that is registered in the state where the company does business.  The profit and loss for the company runs through the owners personal tax return, IRS Form 1040.

The filing deadline to submit 2021 single-member LLC Tax Returns and to file and pay taxes owed is Monday, April 18, 2022.

If you need additional time to file your return, you can file a Personal Tax Extension, (IRS Form 4868) by the filing deadline (above) and you will then have until October 17th, 2022 to file your return.
