You do not need a W-2 to file a personal tax extension.
Self-employed individuals — including sole proprietors, freelancers, independent contractors, and single-member LLC owners — file a personal extension using their SSN and an estimate of their net income for the year.
Your tax liability is based on your net profit (income minus business expenses), not your gross income. If you are unsure, enter a reasonable estimate — you can correct the actual amount when you file your return.
