How do I file a tax extension?

Filing takes about 2 minutes:

1. Select your extension type — personal (Form 4868) or business (Form 7004).
2. Enter your name, Social Security Number (or EIN for businesses), and estimated tax liability.
3. Add a state extension if needed.
4. Pay and submit.
