An EIN, (Employee Identification Number) is a number issued and used by the IRS to identify a business entity. An EIN is also known as a Federal Tax Identification Number and in general, a business needs to have an EIN.
Note: You should check with the state you are doing business in to see if you need a state identification number for tax identification purposes.
